I began New Mother Yoga and Wellness in 2006 to personally share with you the wonderful benefits of staying healthy with yoga before and after pregnancy and the benefits of real self care: healthy eating, exercise, and balance. New Mother Yoga and Wellness was designed to present helpful information and links for our readers on everything from yoga, pregnancy, mothering experiences, resources, and a nutrition and wellness program.
During my first pregnancy, 7 years ago, I wanted to feel great during each trimester and to enjoy the adventure and powerful experience of birthing a child into the world. Beginning with a home practice of prenatal yoga with Janice Clarfield, a well-known prenatal yoga teacher in Vancouver, I designed a clear health and wellness program for my entire pregnancy and beyond. The healthy lifestyle focus changed my entire pregnancy and birth experience. I felt empowered, flexible and strong, my breathing was steady and I actually enjoyed the pregnancy and birthing journey with more energy! I delivered that baby, and my next two, all with fairly comfortable but life-changing natural labors.
Being healthy and strong as a I recovered from the experiences, I now credit much of the wonderful pregnancy and great birthing adventures to the benefits of yoga, healthy diet, and wellness practices.
That is New Mother Yoga and Wellness. Enjoy!
